Immigration - Visa

Since July 15, 2024, the visa-free visit stay (usually vacation) has been extended to 60 days per entry. This applies to 93 countries (including all EU countries).
In addition, there are a large number of other residence permits in Thailand. In principle, however, they are linked to a number of conditions. Depending on the type of visa, this includes: proof of financial status, insurance, proof of documents, certificate of good conduct, etc.
Here are the most important ones briefly listed (as of 11/2024):

Short stay (holiday trip):
Visa-free up to max. 60 days per entry

Tourist Visa TR1:
Tourism and Leisure activities
Validity of Visa: Single 3 month, multiple 6 month

Tourist Visa TR4:
To visit family residing in Thailand (less than 60 days)
Validity of Visa: Single 3 month

Non-Immigrant  O2:
 Retirement (pensioner aged 50 or above with state pension who wishes to stay in Thailand for no longer than 90 days)
-Financial evidence showing monthly income of no less than 65,000 THB or having the current balance of 800,000 THB, e.g. bank statements, proof of earnings-
Validity of Visa: Single 3 month

Non-Immigrant  O4:
Medical treatment (longer than 60 days)
-Proof of cost coverage-

Non-Immigrant  O8:
To stay with Thai family residing in Thailand (more than 60 days)
-Financial evidence showing monthly income of no less than 40,000 THB or having the current balance of 400,000 THB, e.g. bank statements, proof of earnings-
Validity of Visa: Single 3 month

Non-Immigrant  OA:
Long-stay (O-A)
-inancial evidence showing monthly income of not less than 65,000 THB or having the current balance of 800,000 THB, e.g. bank statements, proof of earnings Health Insurance, Certificate of criminal record clearance-
Validity of Visa: multiple 1 year

Non-Immigrant  OX:
Long-stay (10 years) for foreigners age over 50 and family (O-X)
-Financial evidence with fixed deposit of no less than 3,000,000 THB or no less than 1,800,000 THB together with monthly income of no less than 1,200,000 THB per year in Thai bank located in Thailand    Health Insurance, Certificate of criminal record clearance-
Validity of Visa: multiple 5 years

LTR (W)  L1:
Wealthy individuals holding at least USD 1 million in assets
Validity of Visa: multiple 10 years

LTR (P)  L2:
Retirees aged 50 years and older who have an annual pension or stable income
Validity of Visa: multiple 10 years

This is only a brief description of the possibilities, but they usually apply to most. As a rule, visas must be applied for at the Thai embassy in Berlin or the Thai consulates in Hamburg, Frankfurt, Essen, Stuttgart or Munich.  In the case of account statements, the account statements of the last three months are decisive.   You can read more on the website of the Thai embassy.
